About the event

28km, 7 bridges, 1 cause. Cancer Council’s 7 Bridges Walk is one of Sydney’s most loved community events, a scenic loop around the harbour that raises money for cancer research, prevention and support services.

Along the way, walkers cross seven of Sydney’s best-known bridges: the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Pyrmont Bridge, Anzac Bridge, Iron Cove Bridge, Gladesville Bridge, Tarban Creek Bridge and Fig Tree Bridge. The route takes in harbour views, waterfront parks and leafy suburbs on both sides of the harbour.

You don’t have to walk the full distance. Walkers choose a starting village and can complete as much of the course as they like. Each of the six pop-up villages has water, toilets, first aid and an information tent, plus food trucks and DJs to keep spirits up.

For the second year in a row, the event has sold out, with 15,000 walkers in nearly 2,000 teams who have already raised more than $2.4 million. Many people walk in honour of loved ones, often in creative outfits dedicated to the people they’re walking for.

Can’t walk this year? You can still support a walker, buy raffle tickets, or donate directly, and every dollar helps the almost one in two Australians affected by cancer.

Walking? Ticket holders get a free public transport pass, and free shuttle buses run around the course. There are trackwork changes on the day, so check the Transport NSW trip planner before you set out.
