About the event

Looking for something a little bit ‘eww’ but totally ‘wow’ to show the kids? The Australian Museum’s new ‘Bloodsuckers’ exhibition is just the ticket. From leeches to ticks and all the things that go bump (and bite) in the night, this is a fascinating look at the creatures that survive on the red stuff. It’s interactive, slightly creepy, and guaranteed to make the rugrats fascinated with science. They can see live specimens and learn why these tiny ‘vampires’ are actually pretty important for the planet. It’s a great way to spend a rainy day in the city, and because the museum is right near Hyde Park, you can let them run off the sillies afterwards. It’s educational, it’s engaging, and it’s a fair dinkum ripper of a show for anyone who isn’t too squeamish. Plus, it gives you a great excuse to tell the kids to keep their socks pulled up next time you’re in the bush!
