Keen to bring you across a fun little activation for the up coming school holidays at Chadstone Shopping Centre…
This winter, the Light to Night Festival is turning imagination into a full‑scale playground with ‘Home in Colour’, an immersive, hands‑on art experience designed especially for kids. Created in partnership with celebrated artist Rone, this program invites ‘young creators’ to step inside a living artwork – one that grows, changes and brightens with every child who enters.
At the heart of Home in Colour is a reimagined suburban home bursting with personality. From the outside, kids will discover a picture‑perfect streetscape complete with picket fences, turf, trees and a beautifully illustrated house façade. But the real magic begins once they step through the door.
Inside, two black‑and‑white worlds – a kitchen and a tool shed – are waiting to be transformed. Every wall, surface and detail has been designed by a local artist with bold linework ready to be coloured, shaped and brought to life. Kids can grab materials, unleash their creativity and choose whether to add their masterpiece to the growing installation or take it home as a keepsake.
What makes this experience special is that it evolves every day. Each child’s contribution becomes part of a collective artwork, turning the space into a vibrant, ever‑changing celebration of colour, imagination and community.
Part creative workshop, part immersive play zone, Home in Colour, is the perfect way for families to connect with the Light to Night festival in a fun, meaningful and memorable way.
