Description

Established in 1991 by Ian Beattie, Aboriginal Fine Arts has spent decades fostering connections between Darwin and the remote art centers of northern and central Australia. The gallery was built on a vision of ethical representation and the promotion of diverse artistic expressions, ranging from traditional bark paintings and didgeridoos to contemporary desert acrylics. Located on the first floor of an iconic building on Knuckey Street, it offers one of the most comprehensive collections of Indigenous art in the Top End. The founder’s dedication to quality and artist empowerment has made the gallery a primary figure in the Darwin art community. Over the years, it has served as a cultural bridge, educating visitors on the spiritual and technical depths of Aboriginal creativity. Whether for serious collectors or casual visitors, the gallery provides a welcoming environment to discover the resilience and beauty of the world’s oldest living culture through a carefully curated selection of works.
