About the event

For two and a half weeks each spring, one of Sydney’s best-loved walks turns into an open-air gallery. Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, with 100 sculptures by Australian and international artists placed along the 2km clifftop path from Bondi Beach to Tamarama.

It’s the world’s largest free outdoor sculpture exhibition, and one of Sydney’s most popular events, drawing up to half a million visitors. Works range from playful to thought-provoking, set against sandstone cliffs, rock pools and ocean views. Look out for Harrie Fasher’s work, which won the $70,000 Aqualand Sculpture Award for 2026.

The walk suits all ages, which makes it a great outing for families. Kids love spotting the sculptures, and there are beaches and parks along the way for a break. Download the free Sculpture by the Sea app for an interactive map, artwork details and updates.

Tips: weekends get very busy, so go on a weekday if you can. Parking is limited, so public transport is the easiest way to get there.
