No Love Songs: A Musical for Parents Who Get the Chaos of Love

Get ready to laugh, cry, and maybe even reminisce about those wild early days of parenthood when love gets messy but is oh-so-worth it! No Love Songs, starring Keegan Joyce (Rake, Please Like Me) and Lucy Maunder (Chicago, Mary Poppins), is the modern love story you never knew you needed—and it’s coming to Sydney Lyric’s Foundry Theatre from 7 March to 13 April 2025!

This dynamic musical, packed with real emotions and heart, will hit home for parents juggling their own love stories and little ones. Inspired by the real-life experiences of Scottish musician Kyle Falconer, lead singer of The View, the show’s songs are pulled from his album No Love Songs for Laura, reimagined for the stage in a way that speaks directly to those real-life moments of love, laughter, and total chaos that come with building a family.

Meet Jessie (Keegan Joyce) and Lana (Lucy Maunder): a couple madly in love and suddenly navigating the rollercoaster of new parenthood. When Jessie gets a huge music career break in America, Lana’s left holding the fort with their new baby, and the emotional tug-of-war begins. Expect laughter, tears, and some totally relatable parent moments as they work through the ups and downs of love and life together.

Whether you’ve had that “we’re in this together” moment or dealt with the chaos of parenthood and personal dreams, this musical speaks to the challenges of balancing it all. Keegan and Lucy bring their A-game as Jessie and Lana, and their chemistry is bound to strike a chord with anyone who’s ever tried to keep the spark alive while juggling life as a parent.

Co-directed by And, No Love Songs is a beautiful reminder that while love may come with its hurdles, it’s totally worth the fight.
