REVIEW: We Tried the Beyblade X Clash and Carry Beystadium—and It Basically Turned Our Living Room Into a Tournament Arena
When the Beyblade X Clash and Carry Beystadium landed on our doorstep, I expected some level of excitement. What I didn’t expect? My daughter Aurora turning into a full-blown Blader-in-Chief within 30 seconds of unboxing. Before I could even read the instructions, she was gripping the launcher like a pro and declaring battle against… whoever happened to walk past the kitchen bench.
Let’s just say it escalated quickly.
The Toy That Took Over the House
For the uninitiated, Beyblades are high-speed spinning battle tops, and the X series takes it to another level with techy upgrades and competitive edge. The Clash and Carry Beystadium is the latest release in the BEYBLADE X lineup, and honestly, it’s kind of genius.
Here’s what makes it a winner:
-
✅ It folds up into a portable carry case (yes, finally, a toy that cleans up after itself… kind of).
-
✅ It includes the X-Celerator Rail system, which sounds like something from a theme park, but actually just means your tops spin ridiculously fast.
-
✅ It’s fully customisable—kids can build and tweak their Beys with different blades and ratchets for ultimate bragging rights.
-
✅ Durability? Check. This thing can take a beating (and has, trust me).
The First Launch: Chaos, Cheering, and a Flying Top
Within minutes, our kitchen was transformed into a battle stadium, with Aurora squaring off against her older sister. Suddenly we were referees, cheer squad, and crowd control all in one.
The Clash and Carry Stadium kept up with everything they threw at it—literally. Tops flew, giggles erupted, and there was only one very minor injury (a toe-to-top collision, now referred to as The Great Bey Battle Incident).
Kid Feedback: Unfiltered (and Loud)
Aurora’s Top 3 Favourite Things:
-
“The speed! They fly like rockets!”
-
“I love how I can carry it to school.”
-
“Can we battle after dinner, before bed, in the morning, and at Grandma’s?”
She even created a “Beyblade Club” at school. The stadium made an appearance at show and tell, and I’m still getting side-eye from other mums asking where I got it and why their child now has FOMO.
Parent Feedback: Real Talk
I’ll be honest—I didn’t expect to enjoy this. But here we are:
-
It’s screen-free, which feels like a small miracle these days.
-
It packs up relatively neatly (compared to, say, Lego).
-
And it keeps them entertained for AGES. No “I’m bored” for a solid 45 minutes = parenting gold.
I also appreciated that the parts feel solid—not flimsy or breakable. You know this isn’t going to be one of those toys that loses pieces before the week is out.
And Then Came the Secret Weapon…
Hasbro also dropped the BEYBLADE X Cobalt Dragoon 2-60C Launcher Set, which includes the only left-spinning top in the X series so far. Aurora declared it her secret weapon. Her sister accused her of “not playing fair.” Naturally, I had to step in for a mum vs kid showdown (she won).
The left-spinning dynamic adds a whole new level to battles—great for older kids who want to get a little more tactical. Or for competitive families who take Beyblade supremacy a tad too seriously (hi, it’s me).
Final Verdict: This One’s a Hit
If you’re after a birthday present, holiday hero, or just a way to keep the kids busy while you drink your coffee while it’s hot—this set is a sure thing.
Pros:
-
Portable, foldable, and battle-ready anywhere
-
No batteries or screens required
-
Customisation builds creativity (and obsessive focus)
-
Surprisingly fun for parents too
Cons:
-
May lead to new career aspirations as a “professional Blader”
-
Competitive sibling drama highly likely
-
Tops may go rogue and hit the dog bowl (just once, and he’s fine)
Where to Buy:

Parent Rating: 10/10
Aurora’s Rating: “Infinity. With power boosts.”
