Kate’s modelling career started in Darwin — or as she calls it, “crocodile country” — where she packed a suitcase, a dream, and an iron will.

“My early modelling days were glamorous on the surface and gritty underneath — a delicate dance of discipline, constant rejection, and consistent pivoting for reinvention.”

Despite the lights, the photoshoots, and the global gigs, what stuck with Kate weren’t the filters — it was the flaws in the system. She saw how confidence was confused with compliance, how ageing was a silent shame, and how safety was, well, not really a thing.

“What inspired the shift from model to mentor? Honestly, it was the very things I didn’t have coming up.”

And so, The Institute of Modelling was born. It began as a single online course and evolved into a global brand helping women build their confidence, visibility, and voice. Not just how to pose for a photo — but how to own the damn room.

Building a Brand Between Nap Times and Nutella

If you’ve ever launched a business with a toddler glued to your hip and emails stacking up like laundry, Kate sees you.
