Kondalilla National Park

Kondalilla National Park is a natural jewel of the Blackall Range, located near the picturesque village of Montville. The park is named after its most prominent feature, the Kondalilla Falls, which drop 90 meters into a lush rainforest valley. As a haven for biodiversity, the park protects vital habitats for numerous species, including the rare pouched frog and a variety of colorful forest birds. Visitors are drawn to the park’s network of well-maintained walking tracks, which range from the easy Picnic Creek circuit to the more strenuous Kondalilla Falls circuit. The latter features over 300 steps and leads hikers down to the base of the falls and back up to a popular rock pool perfect for a refreshing swim in summer. With its towering eucalyptus trees, cool subtropical rainforest, and designated picnic areas, Kondalilla National Park offers a serene environment for hiking, nature photography, and escaping the coastal heat in the fresh mountain air.
