Got a tiny Picasso who loves to get messy? The Mini Mariners program at the Maritime Museum is specifically for the under-5 crowd, and the ‘Art Adventures’ theme is a cracker. It’s a morning of interactive tours with costumed characters, singing, dancing, and the main event a proper craft session where they can go nuts with the paint and glue. It’s designed to be manageable for parents, with pram-friendly access and activities that don’t require a PhD in patience. It’s a lovely way to introduce the littlest legends to the museum without them getting bored after five minutes. You’ll probably end up with a calico bag or a collaged sea bird that looks nothing like a bird, but the smile on their face will be fair dinkum worth it. Plus, it’s super affordable, leaving you with enough moolah for a decent lunch in Darling Harbour afterwards. No worries at all!
