MMM… Low Tox And Still No Pong? Does It Really Do What It Says On The Tin? Hell Yes.
The Natural Deodorant Graveyard Is Real
There are a few parenting battles I have accepted I may never fully win. Finding a deodorant that is genuinely low tox and still no pong is one of a few parenting battles I assumed I would never win. Getting everyone out the door on time is one. Finding matching socks is another. Convincing children that putting dirty clothes next to the washing basket does not count as actually putting them away also continues to be a work in progress.
And then there is deodorant.
Because if you have pre teens entering that exciting little stage called “hormones have arrived and nobody warned us”, you know things can suddenly get interesting. Your once sweet smelling child comes home from school, sport or dance practice smelling like they have completed some kind of military endurance challenge in forty degree heat.
Then there is my husband, who falls firmly into the “grab a can of aerosol and spray half the bathroom while you’re at it” category. You know the type. One dramatic spray cloud later and apparently the job is done.
So when I first heard about No Pong, I was interested but slightly sceptical. Low tox sounded great. Natural sounded good. A deodorant that claimed it could work for the whole family definitely had my attention. But the real question sitting in my mind was whether it could actually keep up with real life. Could something really be low tox and still No Pong by the end of a long day? I had my doubts.
Because if we are being honest for a moment, many of us have a little natural deodorant graveyard somewhere in our history.
You buy one while fully embracing your healthier choices era. You feel optimistic. You feel committed. Then somewhere around day two you begin questioning every decision you’ve ever made because things have gone downhill rapidly. Maybe it feels sticky. Maybe it disappears by mid morning. Maybe it works until approximately 10:17am before completely giving up on life. Or maybe you spend the day wondering if people around you can smell something and are simply being far too polite to mention it.
Natural deodorants can sometimes feel like a very risky game. Finding one that is genuinely low tox and still No Pong by school pickup felt almost mythical.
Wait… This Tiny Tin Actually Works?
I approached No Pong with cautious optimism, but there were a few surprises almost immediately.
The first was the tin itself. I expected something much larger, but these little tins are compact enough to throw into your handbag, gym bag or travel case without taking up unnecessary space.
The second surprise was the texture. There are no gritty bits, no strange crumbly pieces and no moment where you wonder whether you’ve accidentally applied frosting under your arms. The formula is smooth, creamy and applies surprisingly easily.
I will admit though, there was an initial adjustment period mentally. We are either a spray family or a roller family. We know the routine. Quick spray. Roll. Done. So manually applying deodorant with your fingers initially felt a little odd. I had one of those moments where I thought, “mmm… I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this.”
But honestly, after about two uses that feeling completely disappeared and we were in.
Then came the most important test of all, which was putting it through normal life. Not sitting in air conditioning all day life. Real parent life. School drop offs, work, running around, children, stress and the kind of day where you suddenly realise it’s three in the afternoon and you’ve reheated the same coffee four times.
Then it faced what may have been the ultimate challenge.
The gym.
Because let’s be honest, if a deodorant says it works and then gives up halfway through a workout, we all know that’s game over. There is nowhere to hide in the gym. Treadmills, sweat and awkward eye contact with strangers while pretending you absolutely meant to press incline level twelve can expose weaknesses very quickly.
But it actually held up. Sweaty workout, full day, and somehow still low tox and still No Pong. That is not something I can say about most natural deodorants I’ve tried.
And honestly, that was probably the moment I thought, “okay… now I’m impressed.”
Low Tox And Still No Pong, Without Feeling Like A Sacrifice

What I liked about No Pong is that it does not try to stop your body from doing what it naturally does. Rather than attempting to block perspiration completely, it works by targeting odour causing bacteria while still allowing the body to sweat naturally.
For someone who leans into making lower tox swaps where possible, this felt like a nice balance. Not the “I now live in the wilderness and make my own soap” kind of low tox, but more the “small, realistic swaps that fit into everyday life” kind.
It felt simple and practical rather than all or nothing.
The Unexpected Family Test
The biggest surprise though came later.
The family started stealing it.
My pre teen started using it. Then my husband started using it. Yes, the same husband who would normally choose an aerosol spray can every day of the week.
Honestly, if you can convert a committed aerosol user into willingly reaching for a small tin of natural deodorant, I feel like there should be some sort of award involved.
Because that was probably the moment I realised this was not just a me thing. The whole household was getting the low tox and still No Pong experience without anyone being lectured into it.
The Verdict

So… low tox and still No Pong? It turns out that is exactly what you get.
Does it actually do what it says on the tin?
Hell yes.
And perhaps the biggest compliment I can give it is that I have not hidden it away in a bathroom drawer to stop everyone else from using it.
Because apparently in this house, when people find something they genuinely like, it quietly becomes family property.
