Easter Egg Hunt Ideas

We’ve written up some tips for an amazing Easter egg hunt that the whole family will love.

IDEA 1: Mix it up!

Easter egg hunts can give you an opportunity to get super creative. We know most years, the Easter egg hunt consists of just chocolate (I mean, who’s complaining…?!) But, maybe mix up some of the chocolate eggs with some plastic hollow eggs. Fill them with quotes, small gifts, or other treats. It’s a great way to break up all the chocolate and give something that might last a little bit longer.

Idea 2: Treasure Hunt

As a great time killer, as well as a good puzzle for any little ones, create a treasure hunt to find the eggs! Give your kids a set of clues or instructions, and watch as they scurry about trying to find the easter egg treasure. It’s a fun way to put their minds to work and get them thinking before a day full of eating chocolate.

Idea 3: Eggs in Balloons

Pop the eggs in plain sight with this cool way to let your kid’s know the bunny has been! Place a small egg into the neck of a balloon and blow it up. Leave these around the house or in the garden, and get ready to hear a few pops come Easter morning! We love this idea for changing up a normal easter egg hunt…and it might be useful if you’re little ones don’t have the patience to look around!

Idea 4: Scavenger hunt

Create a list of items that your kids need to collect on Easter morning! An item in a certain colour, a flower, something round…you get the picture! This can be a great way for kids to re-see the environment they’ve been spending a lot of time in! 

Idea 5: Be mindful of the WHOLE family!

No one wants to spend easter at the vet, so make sure to plan around any pets. Limit egg hunts to a certain area of the house where you know a certain pet won’t get in! Be careful with small plastic eggs too!
