Architecture Club: Nature and Regeneration

G’day, creative spirits! Has your teenager outgrown their bedroom LEGO collection but still loves to build? It’s time to take their design dreams to the most famous roof in the world. This day-long workshop at the Sydney Opera House is a high-level creative playground where young designers get to walk in the footsteps of Jørn Utzon. Guided by expert architect Louise O’Brien, participants will dive into the theme of ‘Nature and Regeneration.’ They’ll discover how Utzon drew inspiration from the organic world to create those iconic shells and then use that knowledge to sketch, prototype, and build their own models. It’s an intensive, hands-on day that combines history, STEM, and pure artistic expression. You’ll need to book a ticket for yourself as a supervising adult, so grab a coffee and prepare to be genuinely impressed by what your kid can create when they’ve got the Harbour as their backdrop. Comfy walking shoes are a must as we explore both indoor and outdoor spaces of this Aussie icon. Don’t miss out; these sessions are as popular as a cold drink on a hot Bondi afternoon!
