There are SO many recipes to make your own deodorant. We love this one because it’s so simple. Keep it in the fridge if you want it solid, or apply as a lotion when at room temp. Check out the more detailed recipe here

Mix 2tbsp of baking soda, 2tbsp of corn-starch and 3tbsp of virgin coconut oil. Put into mini cupcake moulds and allow to cool in the fridge.

The Perfect Lip Scrub

The change in seasons means some of us have got dry lips. Here’s a remedy!

Mix together 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of coconut or olive oil. That’s how easy it is. Apply on dry lips, scrub for a minute using your fingers, and rinse (or lick) off. Finish up with a lip balm and you’ll be sorted for the day!

Keep this one in the shower for when you need a bit of a pick me up! In a food processor, combine 3 cups of white sugar, 1/3 cup of Coconut oil, 10 sage leaves and ½ cup of blackberries! This stays good for up to a week at room temp – longer if it’s in the fridge. Apply to wet skin, scrub, and rinse off. Check out a more detailed outline here!

Warm on the stove 1tbsp of coconut oil with 1 tbsp of honey. Once warm, take off the heat and apply to wet hair. Cover with a shower cap and chill out for 40 minutes (or, more likely, run around after your kids for 40 mins!) Rinse, and shampoo and condition as normal!

Olive Oil Makeup Remover

Do you want to know the quickest and easiest way to take off makeup? Olive oil. Yep – that’s it! The oil helps loosen your makeup and gets even the trickiest of mascara off in a flash. Apply a small amount to a cotton pad or cloth, and use just like a normal makeup remover. The best thing is that unlike most makeup removers, olive oil doesn’t dry out your skin. Once all your makeup is off, apply a cleanser to get any residue off.

Ps. We also love using coconut oil in the same way!
