Escape to Billabong Retreat

Recently, I had the pleasure of staying at the Billabong retreat and was surprised by the extent and frequency of activities offered. For example, you can partake in their morning, afternoon, and evening yoga sessions. Now, I am not a yogi. In fact, with my uncoordinated nature my version of yoga looks a bit like a giraffe on roller skates, but that particular day I was channeling the ‘When in Rome’ attitude. So I pop on my active wear, excited to be wearing it for actual exercise for a change, and I wondered over to their outdoor yoga session. This takes place on their newly renovated deck, suspended over the billabong and surrounded by serene greenery. I have never done outdoor yoga, but I loved being immersed in nature. There was a fabulous instructor who guided the class to go at their own pace, which for me is slow.

After the session, I took to exploring. There were plenty of outdoor relaxation spaces to choose from, from cosy outdoor sofa settings with a fireplace and plenty of throws to keep warm. Alternative seating around the pool for more of a sunny day vibe, or more private spaces such as hammocks overlooking the billabong.

It’s also great to be able to experience an all-inclusive retreat that offers a variety of accommodation types to cater to all budget types. You can relax and stay in one of their beautiful private treetop cabins with expansive views of the Billabong. Or you can choose to upgrade to a cabin with an outdoor bath to soak up the serenity.

 

For those with a more modest budget, there are some fabulous and equally comfortable rooms available at the lodge, which offer a shared kitchen, bathroom, living space, and an expansive outdoor space with ample sofas, throws, reading material and games. There really is something for everyone.

I love the fact that the retreat is all-inclusive. However, prior to visiting the retreat, I was a little hesitant about the food choices. I am not a vegetarian and clearly hold a few preconceived ideas about vegetarian food and whether I would actually be full. Silly me! The food was wholesome and completely met all my nutritional needs while also being colourful and absolutely delicious! The chef focuses on using only organic and locally sourced ingredients, and prior to serving the food, he walks through the array of food on offer. The menu is thoughtfully curated to cater to different dietary preferences and restrictions, ensuring that all guests can enjoy a satisfying and filling dining experience.

It is clear to see that the staff at Billabong Retreat are passionate about what they do. They go above and beyond to ensure that guests feel welcomed and taken care of throughout their stay. Whether it’s providing guidance on activities or offering personalised recommendations, the staff’s dedication to customer satisfaction is evident.
