Forget plastic chairs and picnic rugs—Sydney’s most indulgent outdoor cinema experience is back, and it’s celebrating a milestone. Mov’in Bed turns 10 this summer, returning to Barangaroo with a sandy city beach, real beds under the stars, chef-made food delivered straight to your bedside, and wireless headphones for that cinematic hush parents secretly dream about.

What started as one man’s frustration with a sore neck in 2016 has evolved into one of Australia’s most iconic outdoor experiences. Founder Vincent Hernandez had a simple thought: “It would be really cool to be in a bed with a blanket under the stars.” Fast-forward a decade, and that simple idea now sees 150 beds rolled out on 280 tonnes of white sand, transforming Harbour Park into a summer escape for movie lovers and date-night dreamers.

Mov’in Bed has seen it all—cars, boats, beaches, and now a bed-by-the-harbour that lets you tuck in for a movie while someone else brings the popcorn (and maybe a cocktail). The 2025–26 season kicks off Friday 28 November with Regretting You, setting the tone for a line-up filled with love stories, cult favourites, and family classics. Saturday 29 November brings Tron: Ares for a dose of spectacle, while December nights roll into comfort-watch heaven with Elf, Home Alone, Love Actually, and even the great holiday debate film—Die Hard.

Each setup feels like a little slice of luxury—soft doonas, glowing bedside tables, and freshly made burgers and pizzas arriving without you having to move an inch. It’s the perfect mix of indulgence and nostalgia, the kind of night parents actually look forward to leaving the house for.

Vincent says it best: “In ten years we’ve kept reinventing the experience—making it better, comfier, and still accessible. We haven’t increased our prices in four years, with tickets starting at $12 so anyone can enjoy a movie under the stars.”
